Freese and Nichols Expands into Kansas With New Office in Overland Park
Freese and Nichols continues to expand its presence in the Central Plains region with the opening of our first office in Kansas.
Located in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City, the new office is part of our strategic plan to better serve clients in the region. Overland Park is in Johnson County, one of the fastest-growing counties in Kansas.
“There is tremendous growth happening in the southwest part of the Kansas City area,” said Alan Hutson, Central Plains Division Manager. “This new office will help us better serve various cities and municipalities in the region. Freese and Nichols works collaboratively with our clients to find innovative solutions to the infrastructure challenges associated with rapid growth. Above everything, we are focused on building relationships in the communities we serve.”
Freese and Nichols is already building strong ties in Kansas and is involved in a variety of projects, including the Unified Development Ordinance for the City of Bonner Springs and the Harper Tower Rehabilitation for the City of Lawrence.
Brian Glynn, PE, a Kansas native, oversees the new office and is in the process of building a team. Brian is an Associate and has been with Freese and Nichols for three years. His understanding of the local landscape, combined with his technical skills, positions him uniquely to lead the team effectively.
“Brian brings a wealth of experience in tunneling and transmission utilities,” Alan said. “Having worked for a pipeline contractor early in his career, he is a technical expert in this area. He also serves as the company’s technical lead on trenchless projects. We’ve got a good building block there in the Kansas City area, so we wanted to build a team around Brian, focusing on water & wastewater utilities and utility master planning.”
Brian looks forward to fostering new relationships and deepening the firm’s engagement with the communities we serve through our Overland Park office.
“The Kansas City metro area has a reputation as a hub of engineering excellence,” Brian said. “The new Overland Park location allows us to seek out opportunities with a wide variety of clients in various municipalities and other state and local government agencies in the region.”
