Freese and Nichols Continues to Expand Colorado Office, Services

Freese and Nichols is expanding our Denver office with the hiring of Eric Edge, Emily Townsend and Janell Weaver. Blake Stelzer has also recently joined the team, transferring from the San Marcos office.

Eric Edge, PE, CFM joins the team as a Stormwater Project Manager to lead the development of floodplain studies, stormwater management plans, watershed master plans, and capital improvement projects (CIPs) in the Colorado market. Eric has 10 years of experience and is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and California, a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Long Beach State University.

Emily Townsend joins the team as a Stormwater Designer for stormwater management projects. In previous roles, Emily has led hydrologic and hydraulic modeling efforts to create and revise floodplain models and modeled extended detention basins and regional stormwater detention facilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Janell Weaver joins the team as a Federal Marketing Strategist and is an experienced proposal manager with over 12 years of experience in the architect/engineering services industry in proposal development, including federal proposals for USACE, IBWC, USFWS and other agencies. She was previously a Senior Marketing Coordinator and then a Business Development Support Manager at Freese and Nichols for 10 years prior to relocating to Colorado and we are overjoyed she has returned to the firm.

Blake Stelzer transferred from our San Marcos office in his existing role as a Water/Wastewater Engineer. Since joining Freese and Nichols in 2021, Blake has obtained design and construction management experience with pump station, pipeline, lift station, storage and facility projects. In these roles he has assisted in the development of high-quality engineering design documents and effective project management and communication throughout construction projects. He brings design experience with W/WW pump stations, pipelines, and storage projects. Blake has been with Freese and Nichols since 2021 after graduating from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
