Freese and Nichols Continues Leadership in WateReuse Texas

Freese and Nichols’ David Sloan, PE, BCEE is concluding his over two-year presidential term and transitioning into his next role as a leader of WateReuse Texas by serving as Past President for the next two years.

Prior to his presidency, David served as Vice President for two years and a trustee for three years. At the conclusion of his role as Past President, David will have served in the leadership of WateReuse Texas for almost ten years.

“I have been greatly honored to lead this organization over the past 2-1/2 years, and I look forward to participating as Past President for the next two years,” David said in an outgoing letter reflecting on his presidency.

David has been engaged in the water reuse field approaching 30 years, participating in trailblazing projects that include industrial and irrigation uses and potable applications. He is widely recognized for his role as project manager and technical leader on the first direct potable reuse facility in North America: the Colorado River Municipal Water District‘s Raw Water Production Facility in Big Spring, Texas. He remains passionate about reclaiming water wherever practical, and is active in ongoing opportunities to develop new reuse supplies in Texas and beyond.

David has pioneered work in potable water reuse, and he has produced a rich body of articles, presentations and feasibility studies that guides other professionals in applying reuse principles. Most recently he received a Horizon Award for How Reverse Osmosis Can Remove Pathogens for Potable Reuse.
