Four Freese and Nichols Urban Planners to Serve in APA Leadership Positions
Congratulations to Wendy Shabay on being re-elected to the National Board of Directors for the American Planning Association (APA) for another four-year term. She will serve as the APA Director for Region III, which includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and South America. This term begins Jan. 1, 2020, and will represent 15 consecutive years of serving in an elected leadership position within APA. Wendy was also reappointed as the 2020 Awards Jury Chair.

- President of APA Texas Chapter
- Secretary and Conference Co-Chair of Texas Chapter
- Director of Midwest Section of Texas Chapter
Alongside Wendy, we also want to congratulate Dawn Warrick, Chance Sparks and Shad Comeaux on being elected to the state and local levels of APA. Dawn will serve as President-Elect for APA Oklahoma Chapter, starting Jan. 2020, Chance will serve as President for APA Texas Chapter, starting in Nov. 2019, and Shad will be Director for APA Texas Chapter, Houston Section, beginning Nov. 2019.
