Airport Consultants Council Honors Eric Potts for DEI Contributions
The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) Board Chair presented Eric Potts, Account Director, Pearland, with the 2023 ACC Board Chair Award during its 45th Annual Conference.
This award is given by the outgoing Board Chair each year to an individual or individuals who have made a unique contribution to the ACC. Eric was recognized for his time and dedication to helping the council develop and roll out its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) framework. Eric played an integral role in the ACC’s DEI initiatives, serving as the chair of ACC’s DEI Task Force.
“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers. I do the work because I think it is important, it provides value to underserved communities and our profession,” said Eric. “None of this would be possible without the support of Freese and Nichols allowing its employees to participate in these national trade organizations, keeping us on the cutting edge of business best practices and issue solutions to industry trends.”
The ACC is a global trade association that represents private businesses involved in the development and operation of airports and their related facilities. Eric has been a member of the ACC for more than 10 years. The main goal for ACC’s DEI committee is to develop an implementation plan that includes ways it can foster DEI initiatives and programs within companies as well as increase the organization’s commitment.
Eric has also served a seven-year term, as Vice Chair for the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Oversight Committee where Eric represented the ACRP Oversight Committee on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) DEI Task Force.
Because our work is devoted to improving communities, Freese and Nichols is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in our business. For over 30 years, Freese and Nichols has mentored small and disadvantaged business firms. This continued involvement in DEI not only helps strengthen the impact within our profession and community, but our focus and commitment within Freese and Nichols as well.
