David Jackson Joins Texas A&M Engineering Council
David Jackson, Water and Wastewater Treatment Practice Leader, continues Freese and Nichols’s tradition of advising the Texas A&M University Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. An A&M alum, David recently joined the department’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Advisory Council (CEEAC), where he’ll provide expert recommendations to one of the nation’s top 10 public civil and environmental engineering programs.
The council’s objective is to help maintain academic excellence and state and national prominence. Members serve four-year terms, review degree programs, apprise themselves of industry trends and challenges, and offer recommendations to the department based on faculty and student continuous improvement feedback.
David said he’s excited about the opportunity to shape the future of the program and work with faculty and students.
He joins the council as Freese and Nichols’ Jessica Brown transitions to emeritus member. Past company leaders on the council have included Bob Pence, Chairman of the Board and former President/CEO, and Ray Longoria, a retired Account Director and Principal.
Having a Freese and Nichols representative on the council provides insights into a top engineering program, allows us to offer them solutions, and serves as a recruiting tool, introducing students to our firm. David said the work aligns with the Freese and Nichols “Serve Always” value as it serves young engineering students, providing them with leadership examples necessary for success.
David is a Water Environment Association of Texas past president and has presented at conferences and published multiple papers on water and wastewater treatment. For the last 15 years, he’s supported Texas A&M as a guest lecturer and a WEAT student chapter advisor and has mentored undergrad and graduate students through design competitions and environmental capstone projects.
