North Harris County Regional Water Authority’s Al Rendl Regional Pump Station was presented with Project of the Year award in the Water/Wastewater category for projects valued at more than $100 million. Freese and Nichols provided construction management and inspection services for the 40.3 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) Al Rendl Regional Pump Station. Our contribution to the project included a drainage easement, excavation of a stormwater detention pond and embankment fill for structures, producing two water storage tanks, a stormwater pump station, a surface water transmission main, construction of a pump station building, maintenance building, sanitary sewer lift station and off-site force main and electrical service entrance.
The project also includes two 14,000 Gallons per Minute (GPM) and two 7,000 GPM horizontal split case centrifugal pumps, discharge piping, a hydropneumatics system for connection to the surface water distribution system, two 12.5 Million Gallons (MG) Ground Storage Tanks, chemical storage and feedsystem, a medium voltage electrical service, equipment for power distribution, distributed generation and motor control and associated HVAC plumbing and incidental utilities.

Michael has been with Freese and Nichols for five years. His experience in construction has led to his successes in construction management and project inspection. He is a past president of CMAA Houston. An anonymous committee and board vote selects the CMAA Houston Construction Manager of the Year honoree.
Congratulations to the CMAA Houston Best Of honorees!
