Public water systems must recertify their risk and resilience assessments and emergency response plans under the America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) of 2018.

Compliance Actions To Take Now:

  • Review your 2020-21 AWIA Risk and Resilience Assessment and Emergency Response Plan.
  • Update for changes such as new facilities, natural disasters, cybersecurity events and water supply adjustments.
  • Check the chart below to determine your deadline. (See more details on the U.S. EPA website.)
  • Submit your updated compliance certification to the EPA.
