The Clearpond Road Culvert
The Clearpond Road Culvert, an emergency repair project in Shawnee, Oklahoma, successfully addressed repeated washouts and challenging soil conditions by using deep foundations typically reserved for bridge construction. The project prioritized environmental preservation and roadway safety, widening the structure to meet clearzone requirements. Despite complex site conditions, including groundwater management, the project was completed under budget and in half the traditional timeframe, minimizing community disruption and ensuring quick road reopening. This innovative approach set new standards for future projects.
